Here is another example of my interest when man-made structures come into contact with its natural surroundings.
Below is an example from an artist called Myeongbeom Kim whose sculptures are extramural fascinating and capture my interest.(source)

I love this image as to me its like a time capsule, I have a love for old alleyways as they often don’t get a facelift like the front of buildings do and keep their original character.
An interesting reference for this interest is a book called: Hidden City: The Secret Alleys, Courts and Yards of London’s Square Mile. This looks at hidden gems in the heart of London and the historical significance behind them. (source)
This to me appeared burnt, thought it isn’t my initial thought was that even a burnt tree can still give new life to its leaves.
Inspiration for my thought process behind this is linked to Phoenix mythology, the idea of new life being born from the ashes: source.
My first home piece may be my favourite, the vibrancy of the boat in contrast to the soft green of the leaves and the strong shadows cast by the tree. I also have an interest in nature mixed with man-made structures.
For me home is a combination of nature, and scenic location’s that have their own charter.
Inspiration for this piece came from John Barsby’s work on the contrast of colours. This use of contrasting imagery is something I would like to look at further in my work.
Below is an example of John Barsby’s work which I took direct inspiration from. (source).
This is my self portrait, after many attempts of trial and error I ended up on this picture, I wanted it to portray how relaxed and chilled out I try to be in life.
I also decided to upload my second choice as I was torn between which to pick.
This work was inspired by Michael Ray who has an impressive range of portrait photos that utilise a shallow depth of field. (source)
